THE TEACHING SEAT
David Abankwah
SERIES: Day 14

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and TEACHERS,
-Ephesians 4:11 | NKJV

Moses was the first person to sit on the seat of Teachers in ministry. Because of his humility, God gave him additional four seats: the seat of God, the Prophetic seat, the seat of lawmaking or Legislation, and the seat of judgement. God making Moses a god for Pharaoh and the Egyptians and Aaron as his Priest, was because, he was sitting on a particular seat. What God could have done straight from heaven, was what he did through Moses his Ambassador, because he made him to sit on the throne or seat of God Himself. Pharaoh and the rest of the Egyptians could have seen Moses as an ordinary man, but he was not so!

As a Legislature, God gave Moses His laws that needed to govern the shadow of Christianity at that time. Moses also judged the Israelites on most occasions until he was advised by Jethro his father-in-law, to do separation of powers so his burden could be lessened. Moses taught the Israelites the laws of God that needed to govern the lives of the citizens of Christianity at that time. The teaching seat is not imparted as the Prophetic seat can be done or the Pastoral ministry can be done by someone who is willing to do Pastoral ministry without divine selection (1 Timothy 3:1). One thing about the Teaching seat is that, it requires learning.

If you don’t learn, what knowledge are you going to impart? If you don’t learn, how can you understand and be able to teach the congregation the way of God. If you don’t learn, how will you have wisdom to apply the knowledge you are teaching others? Because Moses was a teacher, he authored seven books in the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Job, and part of Psalms. Many Teachers are mostly Authors. Teachers have insight in the Word of God and can get teachings in the same topics they treat. Teachers can have everyday topics to treat. Unlike Preachers who think their words or topics are finished, Teachers always have something new to teach.

When a Teacher teaches, you mostly love it more than Preachers. Teachings sink deep in the souls of the congregation, making it difficult for them to do away with. In this case, one false teacher can ruin your soul more than 1000 Prophets. When a false Prophet falsely prophesy, when it doesn’t come to pass, you will know but when a false teacher teaches you based on the Word of God, until you know the truth, you might have been in hell already. The seat of Teachers is the biggest seat among the four-fold ministries. Many believers will lose their salvation not because of Evangelists but because of false Teachers. When a blind Teacher leads, all the congregation will follow him into hell.

Among the five-fold ministries, the Teaching seat is mostly treated with much contempt.
