THE BEATITUDES

¹¹“Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. ¹²Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

To be reviled or to be verbally abused is one of the dangerous areas of persecution. Abusive words are spirit and immediately it sinks deep into your soul, that is the end of you. To overcome a revilement persecution means you are braced to inherit the kingdom of heaven. The devil is called so many names but one of the strategies of the devil is the work of accusations. No wonder he is called the Accuser of the brethren. As we all know the devil will not present himself to you as the Accuser of the brethren but he will do so through people closer to you. You know what is being spoken of about you is not the truth, but you can be held responsible for it. There are so many believers in prisons not because of what they did but what they were wrongly accused of.
There are so many believers who are wrongly accused of in their marriages that they are cheating but that is not the case. They know they have not been seeing anyone in their workplaces but because of one or two things they need to take care of, that is why they are always late to return home. But no matter what they say, the other spouse cannot just believe them. They can spy their phones, read through their messages, check contacts and what have you, yet they won’t see anything but they will still hire a spy to check up on them in their workplaces. Many believers can be reviled for the work they do. Satan can influence someone to plot money embezzlement as a case against you and you can be wrongly accused bitterly.
When Jesus Christ stood before the Sanhedrin, He was a man of no sin, yet, they still found something against Him and He was wrongly accused and killed. No matter how righteous you are, you can’t escape the persecution of revilement. For students, you can be accused of examination malpractice. You have no idea what the foreign material got into the hall, yet, that is what the reality has enfolded. How can you defend your case knowing it wasn’t intentional? How are you going to defend yourself against a rape case as a Pastor if a woman shouts for help that you are raping her in your office if that is not the case? Many Pastors are suffering shame and contempt because they were wrongfully accused and many believers are happy when accused Pastors are on the front page of newspapers.
Now that many people don’t want to go to church anymore because many Pastors are wrongfully accused that, they are using the church’s tithe to buy expensive cars, build houses and having many investments, the church cannot escape persecution. But thanks be to Jesus Christ our Lord and God that, no matter how much the church is reviled, the gates of hell can never prevail against her. As a believer you may be in your revilement persecution period, but I encourage you to stand and win. Blessed are you when people accuse you for things you have not done. But cursed are you if you are accused of things you have done, bringing shame to the body of Christ. Because of the evil lifestyles of many believers, sinners can’t even repent.

Lift up prayers for the strength to stand as a faithful servant of Jesus Christ when people wrongfully accuse you because of your faith in the name of Jesus Christ.
