PERFECTION
David Abankwah
READ: Genesis 17:1; 1 Peter 1:15

Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
-Matthew 5:48 | NKJV

The Word of God has been coming your way each and everyday through this devotional. Is there any change in your life? Do you read for fun or you read to amend your sinful ways? There is a time coming that you and I will answer to God for the Word of God we have been reading and sharing. I don’t write just for fun and I don’t write for fame. Sometimes I don’t feel like writing anything because I feel deep inside me that many people read my devotionals without putting the Word of God into practice. God wants us to perfect our ways that is why His Word comes to us everyday. If those who are dead got such a privilege maybe they would have repented.

Woe to you if you hear the Word of God and still sin. The one who know much and fail to do what God wants, will receive double punishment. God gives us second chances to amend our ways through His Word, yet, many people are not willing to change. Isn’t living in sin enough for us? Aren’t we tired? So for all God warns us to repent through His Word, what again do we want to see that can make us change? How wicked is this generation who looks down on the Word of God. How wicked is this generation who weighs the vessel before obeying the Word of God. How perverted this generation is who are dull to the Truth but whose ears are opened to false Ministers.

Noah is not here to be the eighth Evangelist again to warn us from the coming flood again. Abraham is not here to be Prophet to us again serving as the proclaimer of the slavery of those who are not God’s people in eternal torments. Moses is not here to be a Teacher to us, teaching us the ways of God again. Melchizedek is not here to be a Pastor to us again, shepherding us to God. Jesus Christ is not here to be the first Apostle of the Old Testament. We have many people whom through which God is speaking through so we can listen and repent. Why are you adamant to the Word of God? Why are you stiff-necked to the Word of God? Because many people are unwilling to repent, they say no one is perfect. Such nonsense statement!

So God didn’t know what He was saying when He told Abraham to walk before Him blameless or perfect? So Jesus Christ didn’t know what He was saying when He said we should be perfect just as God is also perfect? Such wicked generation who don’t want to repent always find an excuse to perfection. Whether or not you serve God, one day you will answer before Him in the day of judgement. Whether or not you serve Him, He is still God over your life. Whether or not you believe Him, He is still Lord over your life. It is His breath you are breathing. It is His earth you are living on. Who are you to be pompous before your Maker? Your service to Him and perfection is for your own good. It is not a right but a privilege.
