CHARITY IN SECRECY
David Abankwah

But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
-Matthew 6:3 | NKJV

You remember when Prophet Micah said in Micah 7:5 that, Do not trust in a friend; do not put your confidence in a companion; guard the doors of your mouth from her who lies in your bosom? Prophet Micah was preoccupied with the interest of keeping things from the reach of people. It is sometimes, the best thing to keep things as secret. Even though we have many relationships with family and friends, telling them certain secrets about ourselves or to whom it may concern, will ruin our relationships with God and the person as well. There are many truce breakers around in these end times. Technology has also made things worse for those who use it for wrong reasons.

A least carelessness, can damage your reputation beyond repair for the rest of your life. The moment you release a confidential information which you think you can confide in your trusted fellow, is also been tap wired by a third party. One of the things you should always keep it secret without the reach of others is charitable works. It is God who rewards and not man. You can be congratulated for all you can by men, but the person who matters most is God whose congratulation extends beyond the present life. His way of old is the demand of charity in the secret so you will do so in humility. Doing charity for all to see is a sign that you are proud and God has no business with the elevation of the proud.

The way of life of Jesus Christ being the Son of the Father, always proved so, that, the God we serve is humble. Sometimes the good things He did, He didn’t tell the people to broadcast them. Sometimes He said, His time was not yet come. Sometimes He said, ‘Don’t tell anyone what has happened here.’ After feeding the thousands, they tried to make Him a King, but He refused. If it had been many Ministers of today who had fed thousands, wouldn’t they have brought it on television or in the newspapers? Even with the power God has given to many Ministers, they take the glory for themselves as if it was their own might that had wrought such signs and wonders.

Can’t you hide the camera as a church if you give donations or make charitable works to the poor? It is enough with this show! Can’t you keep charitable works as secretive as possible? What God wants us to do is to keep things secretive anytime we give. We should not broadcast it even if the relationship is broken. There are many people who after breaking relationships, tell others the good things they have done, but they will never tell others the bad things they had done. What have you given to someone? What have you done for someone? What have you intended doing? God expects you as a believer to give in secret and He will surely reward you openly.

•| Prayer Diary |•
Lift up prayers for the grace to do charitable deeds in secret so God can reward you openly in the name of Jesus Christ.

Quote
The blessing of God can be made evident when you have made your charitable works in the hidden.
