JUDGE AND BE JUDGED
David Abankwah

For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
-Matthew 7:2 | NKJV

The work of the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20 is the office of judgement. God has made every Christian a judge concerning the Gospel. Preaching and teaching are not just ordinary things we do for money or do whenever we feel like doing when we have nothing doing, or even do when we are told to do so by our Shepherds. Anytime you are preaching or teaching, you are passing out judgement about sin and righteousness. When you preach or teach, you are passing judgement about where our souls will be eternally if we listen or reject God’s Word. That is why when you are preaching against sin or rebuking people about it, they say you should stop judging them.

It is not the person judging you but the Word of God he is preaching or teaching that is doing the work of judgement. The Word of God is able to judge the body, the soul, and discern the thoughts and intents of the heart because the Word is a Subject of blamelessness or holiness. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, PIERCING EVEN TO THE DIVISION OF SOUL AND SPIRIT, AND OF JOINTS AND MARROW, AND IS A DISCERNER OF THE THOUGHTS AND INTENTS OF THE HEART – Hebrews 4:12 NKJV. As we preach and teach, we should make sure we are blameless. We should make sure we are doing as we are saying.

God is not a respecter of persons that when you preach or teach His Word, He will spare us in the judgement day. This is because there is no mercy in judgement for Ministers of God who being guilty, showed no mercy by rebuking other people who were committing the same sin (James 2:13). The Great Commission is the kingdom business that requires blameless judges. No wonder a Minister of God has to be blameless before he can be accepted into ministry to judge in Titus 1:6-7; Timothy 3:2-7. It is the judgement of blameless judges that yields repentance and conversion. You can’t be guilty of the same crime you are passing judgement about and expect that souls be saved.

If you have been preaching and teaching and no soul has been saved, then you the preacher or teacher has not first repented. There is a day God has set for the judgement of all people. Everyone is going to stand before the judgement seat of God whose name is Jesus Christ. This judgement is called the GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGEMENT. Judges of God’s word or Ministers of God are going to be judged not only based on what they preached or taught but how they lived their lives. Those who pass the judgement will be congratulated and ushered into everlasting life in New Jerusalem but those who couldn’t, will be condemned into the lake of fire (eternal death).

Lift up prayers for the strength of God to be the doer of God’s Word and not the hearer and to be the doer of God’s Word and not just its preacher/teacher so you will not be condemned in the day of judgement in the name of Jesus Christ.
