THE WISE BUILDER

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:
-Matthew 7:24 | NKJV
The earth which was created by taking or fashioning it out of the waters and things that were created in the beginning have been preserved by the Word of God. Because the universe was founded on the foundation of the Word of God, it is still standing stronger until now. Many people have lost their lives. Many animals have died. Many plants have fallen, and yet, the universe which was founded on the Word of God has not died or collapsed. Until the end time the Word of God will be taken from its foundation or as a pillar, the universe will never fall. All shall pass, but the Word of God who is the solid foundation of rock on which we must build our lives on, will never pass away.
If there is any wise builder we must look up to, it is Jesus Christ, because it is Him who was first a wise builder in the beginning. He built His universe on the Word of God who is a rock and not a sand. He is that rock of ages that holds everything that is animate and inanimate being. He holds your life and my life, and yet many people think there is no God. You don’t know what you are talking about. If there is no God then there is no universe. Many people have ceased to exist or they have died spiritually, because the God who should have been the pillar holding their lives together, is not there. It is high time we entrusted our lives into the hands of the Almighty God so He can control our lives for us.
When God became flesh, because He was the wise builder in the beginning of creation, He founded the church on Simon whom He later renamed as Cephas (ROCK in Aramaic) or Peter (ROCK in Greek). It was not a coincidence that Jesus Christ built the church on Simon as the second in command, and entrusted the church into his hands to feed His lambs for Him (John 21:15-17). Even though Simon betrayed the Lord three times because the rain, floods, and winds of tribulation had descended and beat against him, he didn’t fall away but was restored by the Lord and from that time the church has stood the tests of many rains, floods and winds of persecutions.
Imagine if the church had been founded on any of the disciples apart from Simon Peter, Christianity would have sunk. The way to found your life, ministry, and Godliness on the rocky foundation of Jesus Christ, is to hear the sayings of God and obey them. What is the use of the Word of God in your life if you don’t put them into practice? As we preach and teach the Word of God in truth, we must also be doers. As we hear the Word of God being preached and taught in truth, we must also be doers. It is the doing of the Word of God that establishes us and grounds us in the Lord like a tree with deep taproots. Wise builders ground their faith and works in Jesus Christ alone.
