NEW JERUSALEM – THE HOME OF SAINTS

Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

There is a doctrine that teaches that, it is this same earth we are going to stay on even when Christians are raptured when Jesus Christ comes the second time. They often quote Matthew 5:4, that blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth. Meaning, the earth is the same earth we are going to stay on. This doctrine is false because Revelation 21:1-2 says so. When Christians are raptured into the sky, it is not this same earth God is going to renovate or repair after He had judged the sinners, because God has already prepared a new heaven, and a new earth. This old earth is already cursed by God after men fell in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:17).
Also, there are some people who say we are going to heaven after we are raptured, often making their followers think that it is the old heaven we are going to stay after we are raptured. Such doctrine is also false. There is no way we are going to stay in the old heaven because the old heaven is going to pass away. God is going to destroy both the old heaven and the old earth and not leave it behind for the saints to stay there. Now, this leads us to the place God is rapturing His elect to. This eternal place is called NEW JERUSALEM. It is called New Jerusalem because the prototype is the Old Jerusalem (whose King was Melchizedek – Jesus Christ the Priest of the most high God).
It is this same Melchizedek who was once the King of Salem (Jerusalem) on earth, who is going to be same King in the New Jerusalem. So if you didn’t respect and honour Jesus Christ while you were on earth, which New Jerusalem do you want to stay in? This goes to many religions in the world who think they are worshipping God by serving through certain leaders. Concerning the Old Jerusalem, there were people who were outside the city. These people were witches and sick people. These witches and sick people in Christianity are those who are sinners. There is no way you are going to enter into New Jerusalem if you are a sinner (Revelation 22:15). Outside the city are sinners!
There are 12 foundations of the wall of New Jerusalem. There are 12 gates with 12 angels at the gates of New Jerusalem. The construction of its wall is of jasper and the city is of pure gold. The foundations of the wall of the city are adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The 12 gates are made of pearls and the street of the city is pure gold like a transparent glass. New Jerusalem has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminates it. If you look at the glory of this greatest city, it is adorned like a bride prepared for her husband. Glorious! There are more to say about this city but what is so important is that we have to overcome to inherit it.
