THE BEAUTY OF GOD’S WILL
David Abankwah
READ: 1 Timothy 2:4
Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I AM WILLING; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
-Matthew 8:3 | NKJV
Leprosy was one of the challenging diseases the Jews battled with and it was once an incurable disease in the Old Testament. By the law of Moses, the Priest was mandated as a physician to examine anyone who had a swelling or a rash or a bright spot on his skin that may become a leprosy (which was a communicable disease). If after examination, the sore on his skin, and the hair in the sore appears to be white and the sore appears to be more than deep, the person is declared as a leper by the physician who was the Priest. Then, such a leper would be driven into an isolated house or place from the midst of the people so it will not spread to affect others.
But if the spot on his skin is white but does not appear to be more than skin deep and the hair in it has not turned white, the Priest was to quarantine the patient for seven days. And if after the examination, it is seen that the sore is unchanged and had not spread in the skin, he was to be quarantined again for another seven days making 14 days (just as coronavirus patients are quarantined because of the protection of others from the disease, because it is communicable). Lepers indeed had a rough time mingling with the crowd because of the fear that they could affect others with the disease. There was no stripes of Jesus Christ at that time that could heal them.
This was because, Jesus Christ had not yet come. So if you were a leper, you would suffer from it until you die like King Azariah who died as a leper (2 Chronicles 26:21). But a certain leper was very fortunate to have Jesus Christ in his time. He came and worshipped Jesus Christ and said, ‘LORD IF YOU ARE WILLING, YOU CAN MAKE ME CLEAN.’ and Jesus Christ said, ‘I AM WILLING, BE CLEANSED.’ The will of the leper is the free will of men and the will of Jesus Christ is the will of God. You can see that the two wills, met together to bring about a common goal that was healing. Until you submit your will under the will of God, you can never experience the operation of the will of God.
But Jesus Christ didn’t tell the leper to come and worship Him. It was the leper’s own decision. This makes worship a free will. A coerced worship is a contempt of free will. Satan’s will forces people to worship him as the Antichrist will do. The beauty of the will of God works hand-in-hand with the free will of men. If you are a child of God, you will freely accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Personal Saviour and live in holiness without no one forcing you. So if you are someone who needs to be persuaded before you pray, before you fast, before you read your Bible, and what have you, you are not a Christian. The will of God will never force you to do something outside your free will. Never!

Lift up prayers for divine humility of subjecting your will under the will of God, so you can worship God in truth and in spirit in the name of Jesus Christ.
