READ: Revelation 12:11

And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
-Matthew 8:4 | NKJV

After the leper was healed by Jesus Christ, He told him to go and show himself and offer the gift required of him to the priest as Moses commanded in Leviticus 14. Anytime a leper was healed, he was to be proud to the Priest for review. The Priest was to examine him outside the camp. If the person had been healed as proposed, the Priest shall order that the gifts of two live clean birds, cedar wood, scarlet yarn and hyssop be brought for the one cleansed. On the eighth day after the first review by the Priest, he was to bring another gift of two male lambs and one ewe lamb a year old, each without a defect, along with three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil and one log of oil too.

Offering of such gifts was not a wastage of money or resources but as a testimony concerning what the Lord had done. What wastage it is that you are a leper. What wastage it is that you were once a sinner. When we compare our previous lives to that of what we are today, we can see the Lord has done much for us. But how often do we testify about such things? Many of us especially Ministers have done atrocious things beyond imagination but now they are working for God. If some of them are to give their testimonies concerning the sins the Lord had delivered them out of, you will realise that God can also save you. But the problem is, some of them are ingrates and pretentious.

They make you feel they weren’t that sinful before they met God. So when a church member is facing a sin he can’t overcome, it becomes a problem communicating with their Shepherds. Because there is this impression that the Shepherd is ‘holier than thou,’ many church members can’t approach them and offer for help. Many have been reading my devotional but they don’t know my past. I was not holy before I met the Lord. I was a sinner. I have insulted my own biological father before when I was a kid. I used to hate church and I always made myself busier by joining bad friends so I could skip church meetings. Today if you see me in church, I was once a church drop out.

I have masturbated so many times when I was in senior high school. I have watched pornographic materials which I found it difficult to stop. I became lustful to the point that it took the grace of God from stopping me from sleeping with a believer friend of mine. I was once possessed with evil spirit that gave out false prophecies which I knew I was deceiving. I used to lie to make my way through in life. Because I am choleric, I used to have bad temper. Maybe you are worse than me reading this, God can save you too as He saved me. Maybe you are called a Christian, but deep within you, you know you are not correct. This is the time to repent and seek for deliverance.

Lift up prayers for a turn around of your sinful life into a holy life so your life can be a testimony for others who are facing such sins in the name of Jesus Christ.

Quote
Hardly communicating the testimony of your past life, is an exhibition of ingratitude, pretension, and pride
