PASSOVER

For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.

When Moses came to his people, they first saw him as one of those spies who wanted to sniff out information from their camp for Pharaoh. In that case, they kept an eye on him most times. This was because, the person who saw Moses kill
one Egyptian because of a Jew, didn’t see him as a Saviour, but a Murderer (Exodus 2:14). Israel wanted deliverance but when they saw it coming, they were circumspect about it. That is what most of us do. When God is delivering us from the world, we see it as a burden. We see it as entanglement to keep us from enjoying ourselves.
We see salvation as a hindrance that makes us miss what is going on in the world. God set us free from our ‘Egypts’ or ‘worlds of sin’ not because He wants to rip us off from the cucumbers, salads, fishes or meats of Egypt (that are the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh, and pride of life in our time now). When God calls you, I tell you, you are one of the most fortunate people you can ever imagine. Like Moses, God sent His Son Jesus Christ to deliver us from the slavery of sin for the purpose of eternal life and the promised land of New Jerusalem.
In the process of Moses’s quest of deliverance, he had to battle against nine gods of Egypt. Before this mission, God made Moses a god for Pharaoh. Amid these miracles, Pharaoh didn’t repent from his sins. Indeed, a miracle is not a gateway to salvation but rather repentance. Also, signs and wonders don’t prove God. Mind you, Satan also does magic. When Moses did miracles, the Magicians, Wise men and Sorcerers of Egypt also did the same by secret arts. So, don’t be in a haste to believe that someone is from God because of the miracles he or she does.
The reason when you mention the name of Jesus Christ, it usually work is that, Jesus Christ is swift to confirm the power of His name whenever it is mentioned as we can see in Philippians 2:9-11. The power of His name will work but in judgement, He will tell you He doesn’t know you, you worker of iniquity even though you used to mention His name (Matthew 7:21-23). After Moses performed all the nine miracles, God then told Moses that, there is this last plague He would be in charge of. There was this direction that a lamb should be sacrificed and its blood should be used to mark their doors.

¹Lift up prayers for divine visitation especially when you are asleep, for the purpose of protection and guidance of your soul from the harm that the kingdom of darkness causes. ²Lift up prayers onto God to strike every spiritual enemy that rises up against you all the time. ³Lift up prayers for the judgement of God to be executed upon every spiritual enemy that has been ruling over your life for so many years. ⁴Lift up prayers to be delivered from the curses of firstborns in the name of Jesus Christ.
