VESSELS
David Abankwah
READ: Matthew 13:47-50
But in a great house there are not only VESSELS of GOLD and SILVER, but also of wood and clay, some for HONOR and some for DISHONOR.
II Timothy 2:20 NKJV
I was confronted one time by a landlord of mine. He told me that God is the One who created all of us so we are all children of God. To him, everyone, whether a righteous person or a sinner is a child of God. It is never so! We are all in this world as vessels but the life we live, is what will make us honorable in the sight of God or not. The world is a great house. You and I will bear with each other that, we have vessels that we keep clothes in. Vessels we keep cooking utensils in. Vessels that contain our shoes and things like that. All these good vessels that hold what is needful for us, are stored inside the closet of the house. Good vessels are easily accessible by the Master.
But there is a a certain vessel called a refuse bin which is normally kept outside the house where we keep unwanted stuff in. This vessel is in the same house but it is kept outside. All these vessels are all important but one is despised while the other is admired. One is honourable to the Master while the other is dishonorable. One is treated with care while the other is not. We are such vessels because we were created by God into his great house of earth to serve the purpose of honorability. But some vessels have chosen to allow themselves to be inhabited by good stuff (Holy Spirit) and others have also allowed themselves to be inhabited by evil stuff/garbage (evil spirits).
It is these things we contain in our bodies as vessels that control us, leading us to live our lives. You cannot commit sin without an evil spirit living in you and you cannot live a holy life without the Holy Spirit living in you. You cannot be a good vessel and a bad one at the same time because you can’t contain two different stuff at the same time. You can’t contain the Holy Spirit in you and at the same time, an evil spirit. You can’t serve dual purposes simultaneously. It is impossible! It is high time we cleansed ourselves from sin and presented our bodies as vessels to God to sanctify them with His blood, so we can be useful in the hands of the Master Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 2:21).
There is a day coming that a good vessel will be taken into New Jerusalem by Jesus Christ while the bad vessel will be taken into the lake of fire to be burnt for all eternity. This is because we keep the good things we need. But for unwanted things, we discard and burn them. If you are a good vessel, maintain your worth. Maybe you are a 30% Christian (woody and clayey vessel); you can grow in the Lord to be more useful to Him in holiness and become a 60% Christian (silvery vessel), and even a 100% Christian (golden vessel). Don’t ever allow Satan (who has been a dishonorable vessel from the beginning), to use you as his vessel because his end is the lake of fire.
•| Prayer Diary |•
Lift up prayers for deliverance from whatever evil spirit your body as a vessel contains, so you can cleansed and used by the Master of love in the name of Jesus Christ.
Quote
You can either be a good or bad vessel, depending on the life you are living with your body and the spirit you have allowed to control your soul
