LOVE DETERMINANTS

(SERIES: Day 13)

…..believes all things…..
-1 Corinthians 13:7 | NKJV

There was once a story I heard when I was listening to a sermon preached by a certain Pastor. He narrated that, he saw a certain guy who was busily checking up on the car body and tyres to make sure that everything was not at fault before boarding the car. When this Pastor approached and queried him that, ‘Why were you checking up on the car before boarding it?’ The guy said, ‘Any car I board, I make sure I check the car very well before boarding it.’ The Pastor then asked, ‘Well said, but do you also know that accidents can happen even though a vehicle is in good condition?’ Driving a new car with doubt can have an accident while an old car with faith, can arrive successfully.

From the guy’s point of view, many accidents occur due to the failure on the part of drivers to check and maintain their car properly before sitting at the back of the wheel. Like this guy, there are many of us who want to see something before believing. This is not faith! This is doubt and doublemindedness! There is no problem checking the condition of a car before boarding, but an element of faith is also needed for the car to arrive safely. Where there is always faultfinding, there is no faith and there is no love too. There are many situations that will come and test the faith level of your love. There are so many false rumours you will hear about the Lord as you serve Him.

There are so many false rumours you will hear about the people you love. The foundation of your faith in God and the trust you have in people will be shaken. To stand the test of faith, you must be someone who believes all things in order to survive in love. The moment you begin to have a mind that, ‘I need to check whether what this person is saying is true or not, is the commencement of your defeat in the battle of love.’ Today, many marriages are breaking down just because couples find it harder to believe each other. You are always suspicious of your partner that he or she is cheating. Do you have a concrete evidence? Why are you depending on hearsays to ruin your marriage?

There was a certain husband who unintentionally used his phone as a soap in the washroom just because, he thought when he left his phone in the living room, his wife would take it and browse through his messages and phone records. Why do you expect people to be faithful if you are rather a doubtful and doubleminded person? It is better to believe all things even if you are unaware that the person is lying. You don’t have to see God, His Son and the Holy Spirit before believing in them. You must love them without seeing them. Everything about them is all written in the Bible for our belief. Just doubt any of the Word of God that talks about God the Father, His Son and the Holy Spirit.

•| Prayer Diary |•
¹Lift up prayers against doubting spirit especially amid crisis. ²Lift up prayers against the spirit of doubt that makes you doubt the promises of God. ³Lift up prayers against the spirit of doubt that makes you less hopeful about life, ministry, and Godliness. ⁴Lift up prayers against the spirit of doublemindedness that influences you to believe the truth as falsehood, and falsehood as the truth. ⁵Lift up prayers for full confidence in God and things that concern Him in the name of Jesus Christ.

Quote
“Love is not suspicion but faith. What you are suspicious of, is the very life that you live.”
