LOVE DETERMINANTS

Love never fails…..
-1 Corinthians 13:8 | NKJV
By the grace of Jesus Christ, we will be ending our series on love determinants today. How unfailing love is, yet those who claim they love us, do it today and hate us tomorrow. It is so sad to realise the bond that binds friends together, yet a small matter can disrupt this bond built over the years. Success is all about the network of good relationships you have. If you don’t value the people around you, you may live to regret it. Many people have small beginnings. You can despise them now. You can treat them like shit. You can talk to them anyhow, yet, they are works in progress. Promotion does not come from the east or west, but it is God who abases and elevates.
The earth is a circle for a reason. It goes around and comes back to you. The old sage says that ‘when you throw a stone at a wall, it shall surely bounce to you.’ The amazing thing is that those who are your angels will not appear in the form you want them to be. Jesus Christ was God, yet He manifested Himself as a mortal (1 Timothy 3:16). They may not be beautiful/handsome. They may not be the best academicians. They may not be rich and wealthy. They may be sinners now, but God who is capable of lifting up a sinner from the miry clay and elevate him on the rock of salvation, is capable of turning things around. The Olowogbogboro is a God of awesome wonders.
When Jesus Christ who was in the form of God wanted to visit the world, He didn’t come in the appearance of divinity, but in the appearance of humanity. When God wanted to visit Sodom and Gomorrah, He didn’t come in the form of God, He came in the form of angels. Love, which should not have failed is now based on certain conditions and when these conditions are not met, then the love which many profess turns into hate. Why should you start something you know you are not going to finish? Don’t stir up love until it pleases. Why do you disappoint when no one has forced you to appoint the one you love? When God first loved us, He completed the love by sending His Son.
Love must be geared towards a proper goal. Because many people lust and not love, the intention is wrong and so is the final outcome. When God loved us, He knew the goal He had to achieve. He knew the end result was going to be eternal life (John 3:16). What is your love for people heading towards? If it is heading towards sin and iniquity, then you better stop now! If your love is always heading towards sex, that’s not the love of God. If the romantic relationship you are in is not heading towards marriage, you better quit. When you love people, it must be centred on the right intentions. If all people will fail to sustain their love for you, let yours be the unfailing one.
