MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION
David Abankwah
(SERIES: Day 2)

And ABRAHAM came near and said, “Would You also destroy the righteous with the wicked?
-Genesis 18:23 | NKJV

By grace, Noah became the first human Mediator or Minister of reconciliation for the lost souls in the world during his era. He did all he could to make peace between them and God, yet they turned deaf ears to the Gospel. It is also happening in our generation today. Many people ignore the word of reconciliation that is coming from true ministers of God who are being led by the Spirit of God to preach and teach. Like it was in Noah’s time when the people were engaging in fleshy activities according to sinful patterns of eating, drinking, marrying etc and neglecting the things of God, loving money and chasing after the world, so it is also happening today (Matthew 24:37-39).

When you preach, many people think you don’t have anything better doing with your life. For this reason, people see the Gospel as foolishness and thorn in their fleshes, but it is this so-called ‘foolishness’ that will be used to judge you one day. So many people are bothered anytime the word of reconciliation is preached. Always be happy to hear the Word of God being preached every day because it is a blessing. That is what the soul needs to grow because the Word of God is his food. The Word is what the soul needs so he can be saved from the punishment of the second death. The soul needs nothing, but Jesus Christ – the soul’s sole property in the afterlife.

Abraham became the second human Mediator or Minister of reconciliation. He was called from Uz into a land he knew nothing about. We are also called from the world we knew well because of sin into Christianity we had no idea about, with New Jerusalem as the promised land, of which the Spirit of God only knows there. Abraham believed in God and had grace which was imputed onto him as righteousness (James 2:23), yet God required of him to walk before him and be perfect (Genesis 17:1). That is works! Abraham was justified by works when He offered his Isaac (James 2:21). Grace doesn’t mean you can sin and commit iniquity because grace cannot be abused.

Christianity is work of salvation. Working out your own salvation with fear and trembling so you can be perfect or blameless. This made Abraham able to draw near God and intercede for the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. Abraham could carried his ministry of reconciliation for saints in Sodom and Gomorrah because he was first a righteous person. No enemy of God or sinner can carry out the ministry of reconciliation. Even your prayer is an abomination. In all Abraham’s mediation, God could not find enough righteous people He wanted which He could have spared the entire nation because of them, and the city was consumed by fire and brimstone as an example for us.

•| Prayer Diary |•
¹Lift up prayers to be closer to the things of God rather than to be closer to the things of the world. ²Lift up prayers to be delivered from the spirit of wickedness. ³Lift up prayers for the habit of being unbiased whenever you have to give rightful judgements. ⁴Lift up prayers to be delivered from every destruction emanating from the kingdom of darkness against Ministers of Reconciliation in the name of Jesus Christ.

Quote
“The vision and mission of every minister should not be centred on prosperity, but the care for bringing the lost souls back to God”
