MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION
David Abankwah
(SERIES: Day 3)
Abraham said to him, They have MOSES and the prophets; let them hear them.
-Luke 16:29 | NKJV
Apart from Noah and Abraham who were chosen as Ministers of reconciliation, God was not done with the people of the Old Dispensation. This ministry of the Old Dispensation was the shadow of the original Mediation that would be attained through Jesus Christ. God chose Moses as a Prophet, a Judge, and a Teacher, a Minister of reconciliation who would propagate the Gospel to the people of Israel in order for them to be delivered from the bondage of Egypt (representing the nature and actions of sin or the world or the kingdom of darkness). When the Israelites looked at the 430 years of imprisonment in the world of darkness, they needed a Saviour.
They needed a Mediator. They needed a Minister to reconcile them back to God. For this reason, God chose Moses for this purpose. First, the Israelites needed to have faith in God which was an important prerequisite for salvation. That was why Moses wanted the word of reconciliation to come from God’s own mouth and not from him. Amid the Gospel’s delivery, Pharaoh (who represented as the opposing figure of salvation), he didn’t want Israel to be saved to serve God well. Pharaoh’s stubbornness, relentlessness, rebellion, and perseverance not wanting to release the Israelites for them to pursue their salvation, is a vivid example of what Satan also does against us.
The fact that you have become a believer, doesn’t mean you are free from the temptations of the devil and his evil ways. Satan and his agents will keep coming to get you back to Egypt. He will remind you of your previous sins. He will remind you of your fornication, adultery, idolatry, heresies, occultism, drug addiction, lewdness, wild parties etcetera. But because of Jesus Christ, you have to persevere not to indulge in such acts. Some of the Egyptians who were agents of Satan joined the Israelites on their way to the promised land. These people were called Mixed multitudes. They started weakening their faith through complaints and grumblings. So it is in many churches now!
These murmurings were centred on carnal things and not spiritual things. These agents of Satan are in the church now as Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, church leaders, ushers, singers, etc. They are also among your friends and family. They are strategically placed to create loopholes in your faith so the word of reconciliation in you, will be neutralised with sin. You will realise that, anytime you refrain from getting closer to God’s Word, you start backsliding. You don’t need anyone to alert you. Anytime you are backsliding, know that your soul is breaking away from God and entering into the state of sins and iniquity that will make you an enemy of God.

¹Lift up prayers to be delivered from the spirit of familiarity that makes you unable to take the preaching and teaching of your shepherd into full consideration and action. ²Lift up prayers for the realisation of the voice of your shepherd through preaching and teaching of the Word of God as the voice of God and not the voice of man. ³Lift up prayers to show special honour, appreciation, respect, dignity, and reverence for your shepherd in the name of Jesus Christ.
