MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION
David Abankwah
(SERIES: Day 4)
Abraham said to him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
-Luke 16:29 | NKJV
God gave Moses the Ten Commandments as the Gospel or Word of reconciliation. As the Israelites were journeying to the promised land, majority of the people’s faith in God was waxing cold. After all the good things God did for them, they never ceased rebelling, murmuring, doubting, having double mindedness about the Gospel. They knew what was good and bad as the Gospel was preached and taught, but as the days of the flood and Sodom and Gomorrah were, so the Israelites became stiff-necked too. Punishments of disobedience came upon them so many times as God showed them the justice side of His grace, yet, many of them still seemed adamant.
As it was when many Israelites became stiffnecked towards God and His Word, so many Gentiles are still repeating the same mistake in Christianity today. As Gentiles, we need to be circumspect concerning the grace we have. There will be a time that grace will be taken from Gentiles and God will restore the salvation of the Jews. Today is your salvation day, Gentile.
Don’t wait till tomorrow. If you are not born again, better believe in the name of Jesus Christ, confess your sins out of your heart and walk with Him till you die. A spiritual person has Jesus Christ as the inheritance he can have after his physical death. He cannot go naked as he came. What is your hope if you die today?
It reached a point in time that, Moses, who was a minister of reconciliation was directed by God to point the staff towards the rock for water to come but, because of the pressure of the people, he struck the rock with the staff. After this sin, indeed water came out, but God was not pleased with him. You can sin and yet, things will go on well for you. Don’t be deceived. The Israelites went on to give glory to Moses and Aaron for the miracle done, and God had to prove to them, whom glory belonged. He took Moses to Mount Nebo, showed him the promised land and later took his life. One sin is enough to land you into the lake of fire, so stop living in the sin you call it your private life.
As we are busy trying to make peace between lost souls, fallen believers and God, we should also work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. We shouldn’t become signboards that lead people to eternal life and lose ours by marking time in carnality. Our ministry can be terminated anytime like what happened to Moses. We shouldn’t let the sheep influence us to do things that are not God’s will. It is not the quantity that matters but the quality of the ministry. If you will lead only one quality Christian to God, it is better than leading thousands who are chaff. Don’t be enthused by the crowd and don’t be carried away. Be focused on the ministry of reconciliation and end it well.
•| Prayer Diary |•
¹Lift up prayers for consideration and practice of every truth you have heard and will hear some time to come. ²Lift up prayers for the ears of your soul to be opened to the voice of God that speaks to you when you read, study or mull over the Word of God. ³Lift up prayers for your spiritual ears to be opened to the spoken Word of God in the name of Jesus Christ.
Quote
“Free things are often treated with contempt and ingratitude. Because salvation is free, many people treat it likewise.
