BELIEVE IN THE SON
David Abankwah
READ: Romans 10:9-10

“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
-John 3:18 | NKJV

I have stayed with a lot of people and I have gained one experience that: If you don’t handle their kids well, it will land you in very serious trouble. I quite remember while I was staying with one of my Aunties, I was the one who was taking her children to school and all that, because she was quite busier with work. Sometimes she left early to go to work and other times, she went for business trips. One day, when I was picking one of her children from school, I forgot to check whether her things were intact in her bag. While my Auntie was checking for her things when we returned home, she found out that her child’s water bottle was missing which I forgot to bring along.

You all know some women and their long talks especially when you have done something bad. That day, I was in a deep mess. To make things right, I returned to the school again that same day, enquired and made a search, but the water bottle was lost. A second owner had taken it along. Another time also, I was left to take care of five kids who were closely related to my Auntie’s friend. I cooked and fed them, but I had to rush to the church to clean and set up the place for church service because I was an usher. Unluckily for me, it rained cats and dogs after the setup. While waiting in the church for the rain to stop, I was thinking about the kids.

When I came home, I found out that my Auntie and her friend had already returned from where they went to. They discovered that I was not there to take care of the children even though I thought they were in good hands. It all turned worse for me. I want to use my life as an example for you that, if you choose to be reckless with people’s children, treat them as nobodies, complacent, careless or oversight about them, you will be amazed that you will have problems with their parents. This is because, children are heirs to their parents. If you want parents to love you, first love their children and treat them well. God also has a Son (Jesus Christ). Believe in Him as you do for the Father.

For many of us who think God has a Son but has no wife, the wife of God is clearly stated in the Bible. Her name is Israel (Jeremiah 3:14). God has to love the world more than His Son, that was why He was able to give or sacrifice His Son for us. He sowed Him in His vineyard so He would harvest many children from Him. He has set Him up high above everything and has even entrusted His judgement into His hands (John 5:22). You can’t believe in God and hate His Son, because the Father and the Son are one (John 10:30; Philippians 2:6). You need to honour the Son as you honour the Father (John 5:23). Believing in the Son pleases the Father because it was the Father who sent the Son.

•| Prayer Diary |•
¹Lift up prayers to be justified as you believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. ²Lift up prayers against the spirits of deceit working through people that are meant to derail the faith you have in the lordship of Jesus Christ. ³Lift up prayers for steadfastness and immovability to abound in the works of faith without being weary in the name of Jesus Christ.

Quote
“It does not make sense to believe in God the Father and neglect the Son of God, knowing that, a father and a son are of one and the same family”
