READ: 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! For He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory.
-Psalms 98:1 | NKJV

God who created man has certain characteristics that man has because we were created in His image and likeness. Apart from the character of sin which Satan replaced with the likeness of what God gave him, if you want to know God very well, keep a note of your conscience. The conscience is the beacon of light that shines to do away with the darkness of sin. It is the conscience that makes you live a good life. This conscience is what makes you demand appreciation anytime you do good things for other people. For this reason, a sinner can live in sin and still do acts of goodness and not righteousness. Gratitude is always important. We thank God and we bless man.

When you want God to do more for you, thank Him always. If you want people to be at your service always, appreciate their efforts and bless them even the ‘little things’ they do. Love is sparked anytime you do acts of service for people. You need to know when you have to be grateful and also know how to express. The timing is always important. There is no service than the service of the work of God. Appreciate the efforts of your Shepherd genuinely. Bless him or her for the efforts he or she put in to shape your Christian life and stop criticising him or her for his or her ‘bad’ preaching or teaching style. Learn to be appreciative towards every good thing.

Paul wrote to Timothy stressing out certain things that would happen in the end times. He told him that, in these end times, people would be unthankful (2 Timothy 3:2). A believer can wake up in the morning and forget that it was God who took care of him the whole night, failing to appreciate God. Some even think it was their formidable security or even their alarms that protected and woke them up, respectively. Instead of them giving thanks to God, you see them rushing into the washroom just because they are late for work. Lateness shouldn’t be an excuse. When you are dead, there is will be no lateness again and you will be certainly replaced! No one is indispensable!

Show appreciation to the Creator and Sustainer of your soul. Everything you have, was given to you by God. Stop acting as if you were born with success. Even for you to succeed in life, it is the Lord who gives strength to make wealth. Always be grateful to God. No situation should ever nullify your appreciation for God and people. When it comes to lucrative words to woo ladies, some men are at their best but they can’t find words to praise God. Attributes like Balm of Gilead; Lily of the Valleys; The Mighty Man in Battle; The Uncreated Creator; The Indomitable God, The Lifter of My Head; My Lord and My Master; and My Salvation etc should always be on your lips in your appreciation to God.
