TO WILL AND TO DO
David Abankwah
READ: Isaiah 54:16
For it is God who works in you both TO WILL AND TO DO for His good pleasure.
-Philippians 2:13 | NKJV
Someone once asked a question that, if God knew Lucifer would become Satan, then why did He create him anyway? Another person also asked that if God would destroy the universe He created someday, then why did He create it in the first place? Another also asked that why didn’t God stop Adam and Eve from touching the forbidden tree of good and evil of which He knew the consequences that would come out of it? Another also asked that God knew very well what Cain would do to Abel, but why didn’t He send an angel to stop him from killing his brother? Likely questions as these that baffle people’s understanding of God’s word can be asked, but one thing answers them all: God’s will.
The will of God is the purpose why things were created, how they were created and how they are supposed to live their lives (Revelation 4:11). The will of God is what makes God unique and this is why He still remains as the Almighty. There are things that go beyond our scope and grasp. The universe was created for a purpose. I will liken it to a farm. God brought out everything that was within Him in the form of plants. He planted good crops He wanted and bad crops He wouldn’t need. He is waiting for the day of harvest so He will reap the fruits of His good crops and burn the rest with unquenchable fire. No farmer comes home with the bad crops or chaff he doesn’t need.
The crops the farmer doesn’t need are left on the farm, yet, it was the same farmer who planted them all. This means that, the earth is a farm with good vines (saints) and bad vines (sinners). It will shock you that, before the universe was made, God had written the names of those who would have eternal life in the Lamb’s book of Life (Revelation 13:8). Meaning, God created some people and angels to have their part in the lake of fire. There is one destiny that awaits everyone: It is either you will be saved or you will perish. Those destined to be saved are called the elect (Mark 13:27) and those destined to perish are called sons of perdition (John 17:12; 2 Thessalonians 2:3).
Before God can call you to be a believer and lead you unto the very end of your life to be saved, you should note that He knew you before you were even born (Jeremiah 1:5). MANY are called, and not ALL are called. If you are a son of perdition, no matter how well you hear the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, you can never repent. You don’t have the WILL and the MIGHT to do what God wants you to do. It will shock you that, there are many sons of perdition in churches now. The fact that you are a believer doesn’t mean you are part of the elect. You will know you are one if you are able to begin in the Spirit and end in the Spirit because the end justifies the means. Stay Blessed.
•| Prayer Diary |•
¹Lift up prayers for the will and the might for carrying out the works of your salvation. ²Lift up prayers for the fire of divine desire to burn in you anytime you have to undertake the work of God. ³Lift up prayers for the power or strength behind every action you undertake in the ministry of God. ⁴Lift up prayers for the grace to carry out the ministry to the point where God will be happy and sanctified with your work done in the name of Jesus Christ.
