RECHARGE YOUR SPIRITUALITY

²⁰But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, ²¹keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

For you to understand spiritual things, you first have to take note of physical things because, physical things give certain glimpses about spiritual things. Everything that is in the physical world, serves as a template and a feel of what happens in the spiritual realm. You don’t have to neglect the activities and turn of events that go on in your life day in and day out. We normally pass through time without realising the importance of physical experiences. Since we wake up and the first thing is to brush our teeth, what can brush the spiritual teeth of our souls comes by speaking gracious words (Colossians 4:6). We empty our intestines of any excreta by visiting the lavatory.
We can do this in the spirit when we empty our souls from the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh, and pride of life. After that, water and soap are the key elements we use for washing down, but in the spirit, if you want to bath the soul, there is no soap or detergent more powerful and effective in cleaning than the blood of Jesus Christ! It is only the blood that can wash the dirt of sins, iniquities, abominations, mistakes, and transgressions that make the soul filthy. No one wants to mingle with people with bad odour. That is spiritual what happens in the spiritual realm when a soul lives in sin. The eyes of God cannot even look at sin how much more getting closer to it? (Habakkuk 1:13).
As we eat a balanced diet in the physical world, there is also the balanced diet of protein, carbohydrate, minerals, vitamins, water, fats, and fibre for healthy growth and robust health in the Word of God for the soul. This balanced diet comes by the teachings of all the things Jesus Christ has commanded in the Bible (Matthew 28:20). The moment the right amount and nutritious food of the Word of God are not taken in for some time, the cells of the soul does not function properly and this makes the tissues, organs and systems of the soul diseased. Like a battery, the spirituality of the soul needs to be recharged always for his good health and maximization of his full productivity.
We are much concerned when our cellular phone batteries run down and immediate response is needed to charge it immediately to maintain its usage of communication. It will shock you that, the battery of many believer’s spirituality has run down for hours, days, weeks, months or even years but these same people still call themselves Christians! You have to do the works of salvation every day to keep your battery of spirituality full in order to communicate with God always. Someone is even out of coverage area when God calls him. Jesus Christ the Son of God, had to recharge His spiritual battery by spending nights in prayer even though He had the fullness of the Spirit of God.

Lift up prayers for consistency in the acts of building yourself in the most holy faith; praying according to the groanings of the Spirit, and the grace to keep yourself in the love of God in the name of Jesus Christ.
