MASTERY

But you shall receive POWER when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

Power is something every human needs because it is what God gave us during the creation week to control the things on the earth. Also, power brings authority. When you have power, you are able to have mastery as well. Subjects and objects obey, submit under your dominion and become your servants. You control things because you are the master. A master who loses his power is a slave in the making. The reason when you sleep, evil spirits sleep with you is that you are not having the power that is capable of ruling them. Instead of being their Master, you have become their servant. When a lion loses his roar, which is his sign of power, his preys are not scared of him anymore.
As God controlled things in heaven, He also wanted man as His image and likeness to rule things on earth. Like a toy is given to a child to play with, God also gave man earth to have dominion, subduction or power over. God made man as the custodian of the planet earth (Genesis 1:26). Man was not created to serve the earth but to rule it. Water bodies were not created for man to serve them as gods to but to rule them. Stones were not created for us to serve them but to rule them. Wood were not created by God for man to worship it. Today, many people have these creations as their gods they serve but they don’t know these things should have served them rather.
Where is this power we need to have to rule things again? Why should a believer lose power and blame evil spirits as the cause? Sin is what makes one lose the presence of the Holy Spirit. Naturally, man has lost his power because of Adam whose sin has affected all men and their loss of power to the devil through sin. That power that has been lost cannot be found neither in the seat of Presidents nor seats of kings or earthly kingdoms. This power lies in the Spirit of God. All powers in heaven, on this earth and under the earth are His. When you have Him, you are able to control things both spiritual and physical. The secret of Adams’s mastery before his fall was the Spirit of God.
So, David, how can I get this power to master my world again? It is simple: You need to possess the Holy Spirit because it is in His presence that power is released. I must confess, getting the Holy Spirit is not as easy as it seems. Repentance and conversion are keys of unlocking His presence and power. You also need to be cleansed with the blood of Jesus Christ. After that, pray for His coming. First, He will come and stay upon you, with you, and on you. When He sees that there is no nature of sin in you, then He will reside in you. When He stays in you, His will is what controls you, and not your self-will. Then you will be able to master over things both visible and invisible.

¹Lift up prayers for mastery over souls as the Holy Spirit gives you utterance to preach and teach the Word. ²Lift up prayers for the possession of control, authority or influence to deliver captive souls from the mastery of evil spirits if the need arises. ³Lift up prayers for mastery of your own salvation so you will not be a signboard for others’ salvation and perish in the lake of fire in the name of Jesus Christ.
