LIBERTY
David Abankwah
READ: Romans 6
For you, brethren, have been called to LIBERTY; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
-Galatians 5:13 | NKJV
Sin is an entanglement of the soul that keeps him from enjoying the salvation he needs to have from Jesus Christ, who is the Lord of salvation. When you sin, you become a prisoner of Satan. He puts your soul behind bars, and uses you for unprofitable work and this will end you up in the lake of fire. The more you try to escape, the more he strengthens the security of the prison and the more sinful you become. Satan imprisoned man in sin when he successfully caused man to fall in Eden. That was why God had to banish them from Eden into the prison of their master – Satan. Men then became slaves of Satan for more than 4000 years (from the fall to the time of Jesus Christ).
In all these years, God the Father (Yahweh) was preparing His own begotten Son, Jesus Christ our Lord in His own nature as God who was going to bail man out of the prison of sin. One thing I have realised about God is that He is a very patient Father. He takes time to execute His plans and when He unleashes them, they are perfect at the end. See the years He allowed Satan to imprison man, yet He had patience and longsuffering for man. The reason God had adopted patience for you all these years amid your engagement in sin is not that He can’t kill or destroy you, but He is patient that, one day you will remember your true home and ask Him to bail you out of your sins.
He sent His Son Jesus Christ to bail us out of prison with His blood so we can gain liberty from slavery to serve the Father in all righteousness, holiness, and sanctification for all eternity. The blood of Jesus Christ was expensive enough to bail man for all eternity and now we have been set free from the prison of sin once and for all. Now that we have gained liberty from Satan, it is shocking to note that, there are some people who have gone back to Satan and are saying, ‘Hey Satan, you know what? We want to be slaves of sin again. Imprison us because we love to be in your custody.’ The cares and love of this world, leads a liberated soul into the welcoming hands of Satan.
These people are the ones who think Christianity is a burden or an entanglement that does not permit them to enjoy the world and the sinful things that are in them. You will see them saying, ‘Christianity is not an entanglement that prevents you from sinning. Once saved is forever saved. Even when I sin, God will not count my sin against me.’ It is the world that entangles us from being sanctified, righteous, and holy and not Christianity. Jesus Christ is calling you and I today for liberation. Please lay down every weight of sin and be reunited with Him. His blood is enough to cleanse you from all your sins and when you are taken back as a Son, don’t go back to your vomit.
•| Prayer Diary |•
¹Lift up prayers to be delivered or be free from any captivity or slavery from the nature of sin. ²Lift up prayers to flow in the liberty of being a child of God. ³Lift up prayers to be very vigilant concerning people, places and times that give you the opportunity to use your liberty to commit sin. ⁴Lift up prayers for the love of God to serve one another. ⁵Lift up prayers for the power to do the things that please God and not your flesh in the name of Jesus Christ.

“If you still struggle with the cessation of sin, then you have not been liberated from the nature of sin by the blood of Jesus Christ”
