FAINT NOT
David Abankwah
READ: John 4:21-24
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, NEITHER FAINTS NOR IS WEARY. His understanding is unsearchable.
-Isaiah 40:28 | NKJV
Faint means: lacking courage or spirit; lacking strength; lacking vigour, and faint is also when something is deficient in magnitude. There are things we shift our attention to, more than God in Christianity sometimes. Many people have the strength to make money, relentless vigour to chase girls, and the courage to tackle fearful situations and not such in God. Hardly do they become weak when they have to focus on things they want to achieve for themselves. In this case, they forget God as the day goes by. Your 30 seconds prayer you offer when you wake up or when you have food before you, is not enough! You used to be on fire for the Lord but now, you have fainted.
Remember when you used to pray in the night or even at dawn but now you struggle to have your devotional. You used to encourage people in the Lord. You used to preach without any fear, shyness or timidness, but why are you so fearful now? Why are you beginning with the Spirit and ending in the flesh? You used to go to church early and regularly, but now we have to sneak into your house and compel you. You used to believe in Jesus Christ, but now, someone has convinced you that, He is not the Messiah. Don’t you remember what Jesus Christ said in Matthew 24:3, that we should take heed that no one deceives us? Rise up from where you have fallen! You have fainted, beloved.
Pastors, faint not! You used to have time for God when you were a church member but now that you are a Minister
of God, you have forgotten the first love you once had for the Lord. Hardly do you pray for the church, meditate or read the Bible for yourself but only for preaching purpose. You never wait on the Lord for His Word but you rather copy the sermons of other Ministers to preach. So, you will see that, when you preach, it does not come from your heart, but rather, your mind. There is no spirit behind the word you preach. No altar call from your preaching, no healing takes place, and no demon is moved, but rather, sin keeps on growing in the church. You are fainting, Pastor!
Believers, faint not. When was the last time you personally prayed for your Pastor or the church you are in? You will realise you are fainting if you always go to church with a mat. You always sleep when sermons are going on. You will realise you are fainting when you begin to mark the mistakes of your Pastor. You are fainting when you are concerned about the material things that people have in the church. You are fainting when you are not moved when worship and praises are going on. You put your hands in your pocket like you are the most gentleman on the planet, but you are not. Be spiritual and truthful, because that is what true worshippers are all about (John 4:24).

¹Lift up prayers to put the knowledge of the Word of God into practice. ²Lift up prayers to overcome all weariness in life and ministry. ³Lift up prayers to overcome everything that makes you faint in life and ministry. ⁴Lift up prayers for understanding of the Word of God in Jesus name.
