HAUGHTINESS

Haughtiness simply means: an act of being blatantly and disdainfully proud: having or showing an attitude of superiority and contempt for people or things that you perceive to be inferior in your own eyes. There are so many examples in the Bible for us to appreciate concerning people who were proud or haughty. Haughtiness is a spirit Proverbs 16:18 confirms. When you develop it, it becomes difficult for you to move forward in life and ministry. You may think you are progressing when you experience certain pinnacle of success even though you are a proud person, but you are subjecting yourself under the retrogressive mode of failure. Sooner than later, you will fall.
There was a certain Queen in the Bible who was a very haughty figure. She exhibited the full-blown picture of what haughtiness is all about. This Queen was called Jezebel. FIRST of all, Jezebel showed one sign of haughtiness by serving other gods (having contempt for God) -1 Kings 16:31. SECOND, she went on to seize and kill prophets (having inferiority attitude towards God’s work) -1 Kings 18:19. THIRD, she went on to kill Naboth and took his property (showing blatantly or disdainfully arrogance, when she showed her husband Ahab that taking over the possessions of others was not as difficult as it seemed to him) -1 Kings 21:5-15. Be careful of the advice you hearken to.
FOURTH, she became haughty by dressing indecently which was a disdainful exhibition of prostitution. A haughty look is of the things God hates so much (Proverbs 6:17). She did make-ups by putting on eye-shadow. She then decked her hair with hair creams as most women do now and posed seductively in the window to attract the New King called Jehu. For the Word of God to be true as Proverbs 16:18 tells us about that, haughtiness brings about a fall, Jezebel fell from the window onto the floor and her blood spilt. The fall of a haughty person can take a while to come to pass. It is just a matter of time, for God is not a liar. Let’s repent from every silent form of haughtiness.
Dogs had to eat her up leaving her skull, feet, and hands to serve as a deterrent for us. One will ask, so David, is make-ups not good? Oh yes! If someone did make-ups and was killed by God, you have to advise yourself. It is a haughty look to make your face up. Those who wear the opposite sex’s clothing too, are abominations onto God (Deuteronomy 22:5). Today, the spirit of Jezebel is in many churches now (Revelation 2:20). No wonder people make their faces up, dress indecently, and the Pastor can’t speak against it, all because when he does that, he will lose his fat tithes and offerings. Before you realise this as the truth, you may have died and faced judgement.

¹Lift up prayers for the neutralization of every excessive self-esteem you have in life and in ministry that will end you up in destruction. ²Lift up prayers against the feeling that makes you feel pleased with your ways than the ways of God. ³Lift up prayers for the divine self-esteem that makes you have or display characteristics of a child of God. ⁴Lift up prayers for deliverance from every haughty spirit in the name of Jesus Christ.
