BLAMELESS
David Abankwah
READ: 1 Timothy 3:2-13

That you may become BLAMELESS and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
-Philippians 2:15 | NKJV

God has made every Christian a Priest and a King. In some churches, Priests are seen as people who hold ceremonial events, stand behind the pulpit, preach, and those who are old enough to lead the congregation, but that is not all that a Priest does. The first Priest to appear in the Bible was Melchizedek. He was the King of Salem. He had no genealogy – no family background, typifying that, his existence was not an earthly one, but divine. He was in the Person of Jesus Christ, who came to establish an earthly city called Jerusalem which in time would become the shadow of the eternal New Jerusalem prepared as a bride. The kingdom of Melchizedek is the likeness of Christianity.

He was a blameless King and Priest who lived his life without blemish, both in ministry and in life. For this reason, He wants everyone who comes after His stead to follow in His footsteps closely. In 1 Peter 2:9, God has made us Priests and Kings after the lineage of Melchizedek, who was the Priest and King of Salem – Jesus Christ who became our Saviour and Master many years ago. God expects us to be blameless too. In Christianity, God expects the level of perfection which is BLAMELESSNESS from every Christian. As Christians, we are Priests onto God and we need to be of good conduct everywhere we find ourselves, thus in life, Godliness, and ministry.
In life, you need to do well.

If you are a student, you have to learn hard and score good grades. You shouldn’t involve yourself in any examination malpractice to pass your exams. As a lady, because of the Priestly anointing on your life, you have to know how to cook. Instead of cooking a jollof rice, we don’t have to see any stew rice on the plate. That is a blemish! You have to be blameless, you know. Know how to dress well too. Don’t dress indecently. Don’t dress like a buffoon. Sometimes when certain ladies remove their wigs and clean their make-ups, their transformation is from a human being into that of a monkey. God is concerned about our physical lives (Matthew 6:32) too and not only our spiritual lives.

In academics, try to finish your school one time without resitting any paper after graduation. If it is a Master’s degree or PhD, you are doing, finish it. If it is housework, try to know everything from house chores to home management. From scrubbing, cleaning, washing or tidying up a place, you need to be damn good, you know! A certain man said that there are two people he really loves: First God and second his wife. He then went on to say that, his wife is his third arm. Wow. A virtuous person is blameless in his or her physical life and spiritual life also. You must be blameless in every area of your life, because, false balance is an abomination onto God (Proverbs 11:1).

¹Lift up prayers to walk in the status and lifestyle of a child of God who is bameless, harmless or without fault. ²Lift up prayers for illumination in the midst of all crookedness, gloominess, and perverse generation in which you find yourself in the name of Jesus Christ.
