Bearing false witness against someone is one of the variants of lying. One of the ‘normal sins’ the generation of believers today encounter is to tell lies. Lying is a sin and we should treat it with caution. There is not ‘bigger sins’ and ‘little sins.’ It is equally dangerous to lie as to commit idolatry, adultery, heresies, murder and what have you. Before God, He doesn’t undervalue any sin and He counts each lie we commit against us, whether deliberately or unintentionally. We should be very careful when it comes to matters of lying when we are approached with pretentious acts. The degree of physical punishment for each sin differs but the eternal punishment is still the same.
God hates those who lie and everyone who lies will not have eternal life. When you have a problem telling the truth, note that you are a child of Satan. Satan has never spoken the truth before and his children never speak the truth. Note that, one lie is enough to send you into the lake of fire. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all LIARS, shall have their part in the LAKE WHICH BURNETH WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE: WHICH IS THE SECOND DEATH as quoted from Revelation 21:8. Concerning the end times, Christ declared to us how common bearing of false witnesses will be in our ages now.
Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake as quoted from Matthew 24:9. For one to be prosecuted and condemned in the law court, there must be a shred of evidence or a witness. For this reason, there are certain people who are bought to bear false witnesses against the defendant just to enable the plaintiff to win the case and as a result, poor defendants often become victimized. Sometimes other judges can also be bought to pass false judgements of poor people. When you probe into the cases of many prisons, you will discover that many were imprisoned because of false witnesses.
There are so many people whose lives have been destroyed through suicide and madness just because they couldn’t withstand the shock of how their close friends and family members bore false witnesses against them. Beloved, bearing false witness against people is as dangerous as murder. All those who bear false witnesses are enemies of God because He hates those who do that (Proverbs 6:16-19). Let God be the truth and all men be lies. Even if it takes you as a lone person to stand for the truth, stand by it and declare your stance. Don’t be influenced by money or any kind. You will face many adversities as a truthful person, but it is liberation to be a truthful person always.
Prayer Diary
1. Lift up prayers for the incorruptible seed of truthfulness to be planted in you so you can bear the fruits of truthfulness in everything you do even to the point of death.
2. Lift up prayers to bear true witnesses of people when the need be in the name of Jesus Christ.
