Fight the GOOD FIGHT of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Faith, according to Apollos – the writer of the Book of Hebrews, chapter 11 verse number 1 is: The substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. We have so many faiths around us. Faith in education, business, health, sports, families, friends, and other disciplines. Everyone has got a belief in something or someone whether it is consciously or unconsciously. Everything is by faith and one cannot live without it. One faith that is most important among the formerly listed faiths is the belief in the Son of God, Jesus Christ as the Messiah. Before one can exercise faith in Him, one must hear a message preached about Him first (Romans 10:14).

That message is called the Gospel. This is because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). After that, one must confess Him with the mouth and believe with the heart too. This is because it is the heart that is needed as an initiatory of faith and the mouth as an initiatory of confession before repentance can be sealed (Romans 10:10). After the belief and the confession of faith, that is not all. There is a fight you must fight. You have a fight with someone who is an enemy of Jesus Christ. His name is Satan. It is a good fight because you are contending with the best enemy who has been allowed by God to tempt you (Job 1:6-12; Matthew 4:1).

Why? This is because many believers are impostors. They claim they know God but in reality they don’t. Testing of your faith by God and temptation by the devil is a way of separating the men (Christians) from the boys (believers, church-goers, hypocrites, and those who are lukewarm). The word ‘Christian’ is the most abused word in these end times. The fact that you believe in our Lord Jesus Christ does not make you a Christian. If you want to be a Christian, one surer way to be one, is to fight and win the good fight you are contending with Satan (Romans 12:21; 1 John 5:4-5 Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 26; 3:5, 12, 21; 21:7). At the end of the good fight, you must win.

There are so many ways the devil fights. He fights you through the people who are closer to you (Matthew 10:36). Satan has noticed that when he passes through a snake to tempt us as he did in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:1-6), we will overcome him because there is already enmity between us and serpents (Genesis 3:15). Let nothing come between you and your salvation. Fight the good fight of faith till your last breath. No competition is without a prize. Your prize awaits you. It is better to believe in Jesus Christ now than to regret it later on! Had I known is always the chorus, sung by fools. If you have any had-I-known, correct it while you are alive now!!!

Prayer Diary
1. Lift up prayers for the courage and strength to fight the good fight of faith.

2. Lift up prayers for the Spirit of perseverance amid things that contend with your faith.

3. If your faith in the Lord is weakened, lift up prayers for the Holy Spirit to increase your faith in the name of Jesus Christ.

4. Declare that: ‘I am an overcomer. Satan and any evil spirit can never defeat me. I am indomitable!’
