UNREPENTANT CITIES

Hello Beloved of Christ

Welcome to the Davidic Blog

Today’s message, as authored by David Abanquah, under the auspices of God’s inspiration, is entitled as: UNREPENTANT CITIES

And the main text is taken from the Gospels According To Matthew, Chapter 11, and its verse number 21, The New King James Version

And I Quote

Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

Now The Exposition

The headquarters of Jesus Christ’s ministry was in Capernaum. Why? This is because, that was where the people accepted and embraced His ministry readily. The people of the town of Nazareth, where Jesus Christ came from, were familiar with His ministry. This familiarity led to the attitude of stubbornness and rebellion, that made them disconnect themselves from the anointing, that was upon the life of the Messiah. Potential people who will show contempt concerning the call of God on your life, are the people closer to you and not those who are farther. When John the Baptist was arrested and put into prison, but, Jesus Christ whom he was expecting, didn’t show up.

This made John the Baptist doubt the authenticity of the Messiahship of Jesus Christ. In this case, He sent his disciples to inquire from Jesus Christ, for the reaffirmation of His true Messiahship. A few days passed, without Jesus Christ stepping a foot to pay him a visit, and to encourage him that, the storm of persecution King Herod was putting him through, would soon be over. There are so many people whose commitment, loyalty or faithfulness, fluctuates with the changes of circumstances. That is why when you have money as a husband, there is a flow of good treatment you normally have from your wife, and when you are broke, you are likely to get adverse behavioural response from her.

Jesus Christ confirmed His true Messiahship, by sending a message back to John the Baptist, concerning certain Messianic ministrations no ordinary person or minister could do as seen in Matthew 11:4 to 5. After that, He began to denounce certain cities, where most of His mighty works of preaching, teaching, and miracles had been performed. Notable among them were Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum. Irrespective of all the things they heard and saw Him do, they remained adamant to the ministry of Jesus Christ, and continued living in their sin. Some people will remain unmoved, no matter the mighty things God uses you to accomplish in their lives.

Church worker or Minister of God, don’t be moved by the crowd, concerning the things they tell you, or how they react towards your ministrations. As a Minister, you are a city set on a hill. Make sure you set a very good example of repentance for your sheep, or followers to imitate. Also, be focused on the work of the ministry you have been chosen to do, and don’t commit yourself to everything you hear from the crowd as seen in John 2:24 to 25. Make sure as a Minister, you are not living in sin. Jesus Christ is not coming for Ministers who used their gifts well, but, those who truly repented from their sins. The judgement that awaits all unrepented people is eternal damnation as seen in Revelation 21:8.

Prayer Diary
1. Lift up prayers to be truehearted to the ministry of God amid all the adverse conditions that are there to test your loyalty.

2. Lift up prayers to be active in the obedience of the preaching and teaching of the Word of God.

3. Lift up prayers for the Spirit of unfamiliarity towards your shepherd in the name of Jesus Christ.

Quote
You will be judged according to the Word of God you have been preached to and taught of
