Hello beloved of Christ
Welcome to the Davidic Blog
Today’s message as authored by David Abankwah, under the auspices of God’s inspiration, is entitled as EXAMPLE
And the key text is taken from the second epistle of Peter, chapter 2, and its verse number 6, The New King James Version Of The Bible
And I Quote
And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an EXAMPLE to those who afterward would live ungodly;
The Bible is a manual for everyone, and it contains all the good and bad examples that we need to adhere to. Siphoning the key examples of good from the Bible for adherence, and eschewing the evil examples in it, should be the concern of its readers. It is easy to apprehend this task, since they are all disclosed for easier grasping and understanding of the simple. I have the perspective that, Adam and Eve are not to be blamed too much for letting sin come through their grasps because, they didn’t have any Bible at that time to tell them the history of Satan’s fall in heaven. Adam only knew in part, about what God told him about the commandment of the forbidden tree.
But if he knew who Death was, and what it could do through Biblical knowledge, I don’t think maybe man would have fallen by then. Now, many people say that, they could have overcome the sin of Adam and Eve, if they were living in the Garden of Eden at that time. You will never be Adam and Eve. You are who God created you to be. You are here with Satan on earth, and yet he continues to defeat you day in and day out. He causes you to commit sin and iniquity always. Probably you are worse than Adam and Eve. Probably you could have uprooted the entire forbidden tree of Eden, replanted it in your house, and ate from the fruits thereof, knowing the enlightenment it brings as seen in Genesis 3:5.
The forbidden tree carried wisdom, but that wisdom was not from God. Though God created it, He was not in support of it. I was preaching about alcohol and someone asked me that, ‘Why is it that God doesn’t support alcoholism but, He is the same person who created palm tree and other sources of alcohol?’ I reasoned for a moment and said: ‘God created them but, He doesn’t want you to brew alcohol from them.’ All things are lawful, but it is not everything that is expedient as Paul puts it. The fact that God has given you sexual drive, doesn’t mean that you can fornicate or commit adultery with it any time you want.
There are two main Biblical examples of punishment for us.
- The punishment of the world by flood and 2. The punishment of Sodom and Gomorrah by fire. These two major examples in the Bible, serve as deterrents for our repentance, and remind us of the greater danger awaiting the whole world as seen in Matthew 24:21. Will you be wise enough to learn from the two great examples, and escape that day or you will be a fool to discard them and suffer that day? The Bible contains many other examples of the end of those, who practised holy lifestyle and those who practised evil. God always have a reward for those who live any of these lifestyles. Let us eschew imitation of bad examples, and cling to the good ones which will give us an expected end.
Prayer Diary
1. Lift up prayers to adopt the attitude, habit, character, and destiny of applying the Bible as a manual to guide your life, family, church, ministry and secular work.
2. Lift up pray to set yourself apart from the wisdom of the world, that fights against the commandments of God you want to follow.
3. Lift up prayers for the Spirit of wisdom to learn, and emulate the good examples of the Bible.
4. Bind every evil spirit, that blinds the eyes of your mind and seals the doorways into your ears, preventing you from beholding the dangers, that befall those who live in sin in the name of Jesus Christ.
Quote
Everything that had happened, is happening and will happen have been documented in the Bible as examples for our works of salvation.
