Hello beloved of Christ
Welcome to the Davidic Blog
Today’s message as authored by David Abankwah, under the auspices of God’s inspiration, is entitled as WAITING
And the key text is taken from Exodus, The Second Book of Moses, chapter 24, and its verse number 16 to 18, The New King James Version Of The Bible
And I Quote
Now the glory of the Lord rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud. The sight of the glory of the Lord was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel. So Moses went into the midst of the cloud and went up into the mountain. And MOSES WAS ON THE MOUNTAIN FORTY DAYS AND FORTY NIGHTS.
Now the exposition
How well, do we wait patiently for something we admire, need, and want most? I once was conversing with a friend of mine, and he told me that, he had been following a certain lady for years, who to him, was the perfect match for someone he really wanted to marry. He had waited for so long for a lady, he thinks could be his good wife some time to come. For carnal things which are temporal, we often have a disposition, which coerces us to adopt a method of patience to wait for them, but, we fall short to wait for spiritual things which are eternal. We are not quicker to have things, that takes time to have in the world, but in Christianity, we want things faster.
It is not that God is slack towards the fulfillment of our needs and wants, but, will those things we need, benefit the kingdom of God? That is what matters. The people God walked with, took them time to accomplish their purpose. You can’t walk with God, without having the virtue of patience, and longsuffering. Many times, when we talk about Moses, we normally know him as someone who couldn’t make it to Canaan, the promised land, but, there is more to him, than just his unfinished business with the Israelites. One remarkable achievement in the ministry of Moses, a choleric person, was that, he was someone who could wait upon the Lord for a longer period of time.
It is only Moses, who could wait upon the Lord for 80 days in fasting and prayers, thus 40 days before having the Ten Commandments, and 40 days after breaking the tablets. For him to meet the Lord, he had to climb the mountain of Sinai many times, which many of us don’t want to do at all. When we ought to climb mountains of effective fervent prayers, fasting, despising social gadgets, and seeking the Lord’s face, distancing ourselves from carnal socialisation with people, who won’t boost our faith levels, we cannot do so. If only we can wait upon the Lord, He will also draw closer to us. God is spontaneous. The more closer you get towards Him, He will also draw nearer to you.
When Moses wanted to see God’s glory, he had to spend several days waiting. Jesus Christ, our role model, also spent many night hours waiting upon God in prayer. Before He even started His ministry, He has to wait for 30 years to prepare. Before God created the universe, He had to wait before, so He could plan before. As believers, we must learn to wait upon God, so His presence and His power to develop ourselves in the holiest faith, will be released for us. The official release of the Holy Spirit, was only possible, because of waiting. The truth is that, precious things in the Lord, cannot be taken lightly, and they are not found just anywhere. Before you can have them, you have to wait.
Prayer Diary
1. Lift up prayers to focus more on the waiting for spiritual things instead of physical things.
2. Lift up prayers for the act of patience in life, Godliness, and ministry for something that the Lord has promised He will do for you.
3. Lift up prayers for the willpower to do away with things, that make you erratic in life, Godliness, and ministry.
4. Lift up prayers to wait upon the Lord, through all the works of salvation without retreating.
5. Lift up prayers and bind the spirit of erraticism or restlessness, that makes you unable to complete things you have started and will start someday.
6. Declare that: ‘I am delivered from the spirit of erraticism or restlessness, that makes me unable to wait upon the Lord, and inconsistency concerning the works of my hand in the name of Jesus Christ.’
Quote
One secret of spiritual strength lies in waiting patiently for the Lord
