Hello beloved of Christ
Welcome to the Davidic Blog
Today’s message as authored by David Abankwah, under the auspices of God’s inspiration, is entitled as WORD ACTION
And the key text is taken from the Epistle of James, chapter 1, and its verse number 22 to 24, The New King James Version Of The Bible
READ: Matthew 13:23
But be DOERS OF THE WORD, and NOT HEARERS ONLY, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
Many believers are regular attendees of church meetings, but, when you ask them what they learnt from the pulpit, it then becomes a tug of war that they just can’t tell you. What is the major problem of many believers who call themselves Christians but they cannot grasp the word of God? Why are they unable to engrave the Word in their minds and hearts? What is the missing piece of the jigsaw unable to pit perfectly into the anvil of the word of God? As students, they used to memorise academic books, wrote examinations and passed, but, not so much Word of God in you. As believers, we need to have the God’s word in us, otherwise we can’t become Christians God expects.
There are three major reasons behind the failure of keeping the Word of God in us, and how well we practise them. One of them is Satan, another is the troubles or cares of this life, and the other is shallowness. Despite all these, there remains a hidden cause most Christians are affected with. This cause is laziness. Laziness is the lack of activity or action. You can’t be lazy and expect results to pop up from the sky. You can’t be insolent and expect to know the majority of the Bible verses at heart. It doesn’t work that way. Be active in the study and meditation of God’s Word. What is the use of a car you can’t use? What is the use of work you can’t earn a salary from?
What is the use of a child who is always deviant to your set of instructions? What is the use of a wife you can’t blow her at night, or a wife who is not a helper to your physical, Christian, and ministerial life? There are so many people who used to have the Word of God in them richly, but, after they married, their spouses have led them astray, from what is most needful for their souls to eat and grow in the Lord. As we want to be successful concerning the things of life, so God also expects us to be fruitful as we read, listen, and meditate on God’s Word. Many spouses expect children to be born, but when the activities of sex are not done enough in the marriage, no child can be born.
Likewise, you can’t expect the results the Word of God provides, if you are inactive to the laws, statutes, principles, and commandments it presents to you. You can’t expect fruitfulness, or change when you are always the same person, who doesn’t practise the word of God which is being preached to you. Knowing many Bible verses, is not more important, as being the word action person. Put the word of God into action, and you will definitely see the magnificent results, that it will give rise in your life, Godliness, and ministry. Benefitting from the Word of God, is not as important as practising it to be holy thereof.
Prayer Diary
1. Lift up prayers for the spiritual retentive memory, receptive for the storage of the Word of God in the mind and heart of your soul.
2. Lift up prayers for the spiritual understanding of the Word of God as you devote time reading, meditating, and studying the Word of God.
3. Lift up prayers to be active to the practice of the laws, statutes, principles, and commandments of the Word of God in the name of Jesus Christ.
4. Declare that: ‘I am a devotee to the Word of God. I value the Word of God above every other thing in life. I now have the willpower to practise the truth of the Word of God.’
Quote
“The best response you can ever give towards the Word of God, is obedience”
