Hello beloved of our Lord Jesus Christ
You are welcome to the Davidic Blog
Today’s Message as authored by David Abankwah, under the auspices of divine inspiration, is entitled as, QUIET TIME
And the main text is taken from the Gospel according to Luke, Chapter 6, and its verse number 12
And it reads as
Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, :continued all night in prayer to God.
Now, the exposition
As humans, we sometimes want serene environment to be, and relax, or sound mind to plan for something important. At times, we can take certain people who mean so much to us, to places we want to spend quality time with. Certain guys take their beloveds to important places, so quiet in order to do away with any noise, that can disturb their approach of proposal. Sometimes as a good speaker, you should also be a good listener. It is not every time that someone has to be quiet to hear from you. As God inhabits the praises of His people, He also wants your silence in order to speak to you. When two people speak at the same time, it turns into a quarrel, and not a conversation.
A quiet time is a private encounter, relationship or meeting one has with God usually through prayer and Bible reading or studying or meditation. It is a period, usually every day, that a Christian or believer, devotes for the work of his salvation, as seen in Philippians 2:12. This is usually done with the intention of being with God alone, without any disturbances of external factors, people, devices such as mobile phones etcetera. Everyone wants to have their privacy. Everyone wants to have intimacy with special people. It is not everywhere you can express yourself to someone, except, in a closet with the person. Likewise, when we go to church, it is a public place of service to God.
God is not fed up with only public service. There, He deals with the congregation as a group, but after that, He wants to have a private meeting with you and I. There are things He wants to tell you, reveal, direct, lead, empower or bless you with. That’s why quiet time is very important. Jesus Christ mentioned that in Matthew chapter six, verse number six. Jesus Christ our role model, had His quiet time with the other Persons of the Godhead. He had His quiet times in the night, when His disciples were asleep. The secret to Jesus’s teachings, preaching, and miracles, were all because of the quiet times He spent with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. He often had a 12-hour quiet time, as seen in Luke 6:12. How incredible!
Through that, He had divine revelations to preach and teach, presence, and power to exercise supernatural things: miracles, signs, and wonders. You can also have your quiet time as Jesus Christ did. Create a space in your room for God, where you can meet Him. If you have your own house, you can allocate a special room for quiet times. Furnish the room properly because, God is the most important guest you can ever have. Get Bibles to study, jotters for making notes, and switch off devices that can disrupt your attention. Read, study, and meditate on the Word of God. Pray always and you will experience dramatic changes in your Godliness, life, and ministry.
Prayer Diary
1. Lift up prayers to refrain from the attitude of impressing others, with your seriousness in church meetings and long praying hours.
2. Lift up prayers to develop the attitude of having daily prayer meetings with God in your closet.
3. Lift up prayers to adopt the mindset of valuing private prayer meetings than public ones.
4. Lift up prayers for the love for God in developing more intimacy with Him.
5. Lift up prayers for the revelation, direction, leadership, empowerment, and blessings into your life, as you have private prayer meetings with the Lord.
6. Lift up prayers for the passion to read, study and meditate on the Word of God more than worldly scripts.
7. Lift up prayers and bind every evil spirit, that operates you to have chronic oversight of your private fellowship with the Lord.
8. Declare that: ‘I am victorious over every laziness, oversiglt over having more time for the Word of God, and prayer life. I am now closer to God, as I develop more personal time with Him, in Word and in prayer in the name of Jesus Christ.’
Quote
“It is hypocrisy if one can engage in public fellowships, but, the same person cannot have private fellowships with the Lord”
