Hello beloved of our Lord Jesus Christ
You are welcome to the Davidic Podcast
Today’s Message as authored by David Abankwah, under the auspices of divine inspiration, and narrated By Cassidy, is entitled as, SECULAR MUSIC
And the main text is taken from the Ecclesiastes Of Solomon, Chapter 7, and its verse number 5, The New King James Version Of The Bible
And it reads as
It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise than for a man to hear the song of fools.
God takes a keen interest in the songs we need to create, sing, advertise, hear, or watch. We should, therefore, note that, God will bring every deed into judgement, which singing and listening to music too, are inclusive. Many Christians struggle with the subject of secular music. I know that some secular music can be very entertaining, having catchy melodies, thoughtful insights, and positive messages, but, there are some factors we need to consider too. The three primary factors are 1. The purpose of the music 2. The style of music3. The content of the lyrics. The primary purpose of music, is to worship and praise God as seen in, as seen in Psalm 4:1; Psalms 6:1; Psalms 54:1; Psalms 55:1; Psalms 61:1; Psalms 67:1, and Psalms 76:1.
Secondarily, music was seen in Nehemiah 4:20, as a medium to warn the people from danger, as seen in Judges 7:16 to 22, to surprise their enemies, and Ephesians 5:19 to encourage the faith of others. Concerning the style of music, the Bible nowhere condemns any style of music. The Bible nowhere declared any musical instrument to be ungodly, and this shifts us to the third point: the content of lyrics. Since neither the purpose of music nor the style of music, determines whether a Christian should listen to secular music, we must consider the content of the lyrics. Philippians 4:8 is an excellent guide for musical lyrics. The lyrics we allow into our minds through the ears, must be pure.
Lyrics are words, and words are spirit according to John 6:63. Depending on the spirit backing a certain artist, determines the kind of content the person will gather, to form the person’s musical lyrics. Most believers are drawn to the beats or the melody of secular music, without even bothering to check the lyrics. In that case, they end up becoming violent, sexually aroused, weird dreams, and what have you, without knowing the source of such ordeals. Don’t say you will fast, and pray, or read your Bible, and you will be okay while you still live in the sin of listening to Satanic possessed songs. Lucifer who was once a musician in heaven, fell because of lust that led to pride.
Music is one area Satan is using to trap many people even pastors. If you have anything to do with the creation of music, say a singer, an instrumentalist, sound engineer, producer, director etc, know that you are doing the work that Satan used to do in heaven. Satan can visit you at any time, and woe betides you if you don’t have that it takes to overcome him. Many gospel musicians started well, but, they are worse off than sinners now. Sadly, most secular music often promotes sexual immorality, and violence while belittling purity and integrity. If a song glorifies what opposes God, a Christian should not listen to it. Most secular music will lead many people to hell.
Prayer Diary
1. Lift up prayers to develop the character of siphoning the good advice from the lyrics of gospel songs you hear.
2. Lift up prayers to refrain from the lust of worldly songs that captures your mind and heart, preventing you from having the will and love to listen to gospel songs.
3. Lift up prayers for humility as you engage in the business of singing gospel songs.
4. Lift up prayers to develop the awareness of focusing more on the power of the music, that you sing, and not for the purpose of entertaining people.
5. Lift up prayers for the Holy Spirit, to inspire you to write songs, than to seek other means of worldly inspiration.
6. Lift up prayers for divine connections, towards the right people who will shape and sponsor you, to become the musician God wants you to become.
7. Lift up prayers for the breaking of stony hearts, and the discerning of darkened minds, as you hear Spirit-filled songs.
8. Declare that: ‘I will never be arrogant as I sing for God. I will always be humble to be rebuked and corrected. I am delivered from every Satanic visitation, and influence associated with music. My songs will have physical and spiritual influence when people listen. Every gospel song, that is devilish is exposed in the name of Jesus Christ.’
Quote
“Secular music soothes the body, but, destroys the soul”
