Thus Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, “The Lord has not chosen these.”
-1 Samuel 16:10 | NKJV
Concerning the area of selection, it is a heated moment where everyone expects himself to be fished out from the sea. Indeed, it brings appointment for some and disappointment for others. Someone has been working harder thinking he or she will be chosen for a promotion, just to realise that another person has been rather chosen instead of him or her. In this life, one way or the other, we are all making choices through the decisions and indecisions we make. To be a Christian, is also about choices. If God has not chosen or called you to be His sheep, forget about it. You can attempt to be one, but you can’t. If you are a Christian, you are graced to be God’s elect.
Imagine being a girl in the midst of several ladies in your family and one guy passed all of them to marry you. Even for twins, one is chosen above the other even though they look alike. It doesn’t matter if you can match one boot for boot, one is going to be set above you in time. How do you react when you are chosen or rejected? Why is it like that? Is the world unfair to us in a way that we think we deserve more than that? Are we to be blamed for not making ourselves appealing enough to be selected? Or are we too dull to notice the moment of our breakthrough, when the time is due? Is it that we lack favour in the sight of God and men? It is not of him who runs or wills, but of God’s mercy.
Logically, being chosen by men, hinges on appearance, what you have done and what you can do. If you are handicapped in a certain area of activity, men sometimes chose others above you. If God doesn’t step in to change that course, men’s choices are often biased. Serve God well, maintain your composure and be patient, your time will definitely come. Prophet Samuel was sent to elect a king in the house of Jesse, by God. He made a feast by sacrificing a lamb. In the first place, Prophet Samuel was moved by the physicality of the seven sons of Jesse as they passed him by. He could have chosen them based on their appearance, socialaffiliation, or political affiliation.
Again he could have chosen them above David based on certification, innate abilities, and the experience they had but what Prophet Samuel failed to consider, was their spirituality. Our problem as humans is that, we often choose people for marriages, leaders, associates, employees, helpers, etc, without considering the spirit that is inside of them. We are best at looking at skill and experience and not the consideration of who they are in the spiritual realm. In this case, many Pastors have married witches as wives and have been married to wizards as husbands. It is very important to acknowledge God during decision making in Godliness, life and ministry.
•| Prayer Diary |•
¹Lift up prayers to live the life of righteousness, holiness, and sanctification that are necessary for God to choose you for eternal life. ²Lift up prayers for the grace and favour of God to locate you so you can be chosen for special purposes of divine work. ³Lift up prayers for the foresight to see things beyond the present and physical appearances so you won’t make hasty decisions that will end you in trouble later on in time. ⁴Lift up prayers for the spiritual eyes to see the end from the beginning concerning the choices you are making today. ⁵Bind every evil spirit that influences your mind, dreams, visions, and revelations that deceives you into thinking that, those occurrences are the will of God. ⁶Bind every evil spirit that influences your choices and decisions through friends, family, loved ones, and people closer to you in the name of Jesus Christ.

“The people God had chosen for eternal life, are called sheep while those who have been chosen for eternal damnation, are called goats”
