‘They shall be carried to Babylon, and there they shall be until the day that I visit them,’ says the Lord. ‘Then I will bring them up and RESTORE them to this place.’
-Jeremiah 27:22 | NKJV
Have you fallen from your faith in Jesus Christ? If yes, then you are not the first person. Peter who was even rock on which the church was founded on, and the closest to the Messiah physically, fell so many times. Well, you will say that time the Holy Spirit had not descended into him. He had the opportunity to be with Jesus Christ physically but our walk with the Messiah is spiritual. We are not privileged to be with Jesus Christ in flesh, but through faith, we are in Him. Then this walk sometimes becomes quite difficult and because of that, many people’s faith is shipwrecked. But if you lose faith, that doesn’t mean you can’t be restored. While you still live, you have an opportunity.
Israelites went into exile in Babylon for a couple of time because of their disobedience against the Word of God. It was a very difficult moment for them to go through. Actually, Israel was a country that the Lord had chosen for Himself, but, the way to their success was not on a silver platter at all. We actually think that, when we are blessed, we will be given free lunches. We actually attribute abundance to blessings, and lack to curses, but that is not always so with the Lord. The Lord has a way of dealing with every individual. He sees things from afar and brings them near. Sometimes, you may not fully understand what is happening to you but trust in God, He will surely deliver.
It is His will for us to be tried and tested (Psalms 66:10). Like silver is tried in the fire, so the people of God need to allow themselves to undergo harsh conditions. The way to the top is not an easy route but requires the heart of persistence and patience. Do you think the Israelites were happy with how Nebuchadnezzar was treating them in Babylon? Do you think they wanted to be slaves? Do you think they didn’t want to be Masters? Certainly not! But that was the condition they found themselves in. Blaming God is not the issue to the antidote of the times of difficulties. You may have lost your position, work, people, money, or things that are so valuable, but that is not the end of you.
Never say ‘Lord why me?’ As you become hopeful in the Lord for the restoration of the things you had lost, Jesus Christ will surely provide. Job lost it all (Job 1), yet when he didn’t lose faith in God, he was restored twice the things he had lost. Your hour of test cannot be compared to Job, yet he overcame. His unrelenting and patience, yielded him many goodies than what he had at first (Job 42:10-15). The latter will always be greater than the former, if you don’t lose faith in God as a child of God. Divine restoration is feasible for those who are able to go through their period of test successfully. When the Israelites went through their period of exile successfully, God restored whatever they had lost.

“Sometimes it is the will of God for us to go into exiles. Sometimes it is our own disobedience. Yet, we have to learn the lesson of restoration when we are delivered”
