Today’s Message, As Authored By David Abankwah Is Entitled As, GREAT LIGHT

The main text is taken from Matthew Chapter 4, Verse Number 16

And I read

The people who sat in darkness have seen a GREAT LIGHT, and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.

Now the exposition

Apostle John in his introductory writing concerning the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ made mention that the Son of God is the Word of God (John 1:1). Through further deduction of the proof of Him, He made mention that the Word of God is light. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men, he said (John 1:5). What did Apostle John mean by saying the Word is light? At the beginning of creation, we can see that, when God created the heaven and the earth, the earth became void, formless and dark. These were the works of Satan and his fallen angels. That time, Satan and his angels had already been defeated in heaven by Michael and his angels and overthrown (Revelation 12:7).

The Spirit of God conquered darkness when He moved upon the face of the deep and that victory, gave God the Father the utterance to proclaim light which was the Word that proceeded out of His mouth (Genesis 1:3). The Word of God who is Jesus Christ (Revelation 19:13) brought light to illuminate the world of all the darkness the devil had devised which the kingdom of darkness could not overcome. That is the meaning of the ‘darkness comprehended it not’ in John 1:5. That was the first time Jesus Christ defeated Satan on earth because, in heaven, Jesus Christ defeated Satan, when the angels used His blood and the Word of their testimony (Revelation 12:11).

During the occurrence and vision given to Raymond Aguilera on 23rd July 1990, he met with the Father Jehovah who was seen as an extremely bright white light. The Son Jesus Christ was also seen shooting out from the Large white light as a great white light with a star in it. The Holy Spirit was also seen as three or four lines connecting both Bright Lights. During creation, we saw two lights that were created: one to rule the day thus the sun and another to rule the night thus the moon. The sun and the moon are symbols of the illumination of the Word of God and His dominion over all. In the daytime, He rules and, in the night, too, He also rules. Nothing can overcome Him!

Every illumination comes from God. It was Him who brought light into existence from creation because the earth itself was void, formless and dark in the first place. If anything in heaven or on earth can have illumination, it comes from God because He is the light of the world. Now we have a great privilege to serve this Great light. In this world of darkness, you and I need this Great light that shines through Jesus Christ to separate us from any darkness of sin and iniquity. If you will only allow this Great light to shine in your life through this message, you will enjoy eternal life in New Jerusalem. It is not late until you die. Don’t die in the darkness of doubt, unbelief, and pride.

Prayer Diary

1. Lift up prayers for the Holy Spirit to bring separation between the deeds of light and deeds of darkness in your life, so you will not be unaware of your shortcomings and weaknesses.

2. Pray for the spiritual illumination of the Holy Spirit to enable you to live a life of light in this world of darkness.

3. Lift up prayers for the works of light in your life and ministry to be evidential for the realisation and blessing of others.

4. Bind every evil spirit(s) that infiltrate(s) your life and ministry, who bring(s) about the darkness of sin and iniquity in the name of Jesus Christ.

5. Declare that: I am delivered from every spirit of darkness. ‘The Great light illuminates my mind, heart, and soul.’
