Love…..is kind…..

Today, we will be looking at another determinant of love. I hope you were blessed by the previous message. Love is kind. There is a difference between goodness and kindness. Looking at the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit, there is a fruit called goodness and another fruit called kindness. Sometimes we are mistaken when we perceive goodness as an act of kindness. Goodness has to do with character and kindness has to do with generosity. Someone can say, ‘David is a morally excellent guy but he thinks stinginess is an act of frugality.’
Goodness is personal, but kindness is mutual. The good character you have doesn’t put money in someone’s pocket. The sins and iniquity you have stopped doing has no financial bearing on the lives of others. When it comes to the area of kindness, many believers are not considerate, helpful or tender at all. Even though they have what it takes to be kind, they will never do it. When they pass by and see beggars on the roadside, they even insult them in their heads. Some even think that, when they give their money to beggars, they will have bad fortunes. They normally tag beggars as devil incarnates.
If you have love, then kindness should also be your character. When you eat, think about others who are starving. When you are working, think about the jobless. When you are rich, think about the poor. When you are married, think about singles. When you are saved, think about the lost. Don’t be morally good and poor in kindness. It is not only money you can give as a means of kindness towards one another. A phone call or text message you send, can be a kind gesture. Don’t excuse yourself from kindness because of busyness.
Everyone is busy, but we make time for what is more important. If kindness is important to you, you will not treat it as a foregoing alternative. Without kindness, love is incomplete. Because of the love God had, that was why He was able to give us His Son Jesus Christ. Kindness is all about giving. We ought to give our time, money, strength, and what we have to save the lost too. Give your money or kind to make the life of others easier, exciting and enjoyable. Save a life today with your kindness!

¹Lift up prayers for consistency in the practice of kindness so the seed of kindness can be planted in you to bear the fruit of kindness. ²Instead of waiting for favours from people, lift up prayers to engage in the deeds of kindness towards people. ³Lift up prayers for the practice of treating people with respect despite the act of kindness you show towards them. ⁴Lift up prayers for the grace of God so divine kindness can locate you when the need be, after you have also been kind to people on a consistency basis. ⁵Lift up prayers for the awareness of not expecting anything in return from the people you show them kindness in the name of Jesus Christ.
