THE ENLIGHTENED EYES

READ: Job 33:29-30
“The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.
-Matthew 6:22 | NKJV
One of the sophisticated organs in the body is the eye. It can cry in tears but there is no water that is pumped into it. It is always blinking at least every five seconds. When the eye becomes blind, the whole body cannot go anywhere again without the help of someone who is not blind. This keeps the body in darkness! Like many, the soul has been kept in total darkness because of sin, iniquity, abomination, and blasphemy. The god of this world is the one who blinds the eyes of the mind of people so the light of the Gospel cannot shine in the lives of those who hear it (2 Corinthians 4:4). Satan is the god of this world who is in charge of darkness and Jesus Christ is the God of light.
These Masters of light and darkness are always competing for our souls. It is because of this war within that makes you sin today and do goodness tomorrow. The reason you have been in the church for ages but you still fornicate is that, you are blind! If you are not blind, why can you fornicate and still have the gut to hold microphone and sing before the altar of God? You are blind because you don’t know what you are doing. You are blind and this blindness is taking you to hell gradually. You can’t be neither cold or hold. If you want to be a child of darkness, you better be. If you also want your eyes to be enlightened by Jesus Christ too, you better be. After death, there is no neutral place!
There is no neutral place to host lukewarm people. It is either Hades or Paradise and it is either the lake of fire or New Jerusalem. As you live, you have the opportunity to allow the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to enlighten your darkened eyes. I was once in the world just like you. I used to do horrible things I taught it was normal. Anytime you feel comfortable sinning, it is because your eyes have been darkened. If your eyes become enlightened, you will see that, you have been wasting your time on useless things. The Persecuting Saul thought his job of prowling for Christians to persecute and kill, was a good one, not knowing his eyes were darkened by the scales of the world.
He was sinning but he didn’t know where it was leading his soul. When he met the Gospel in the middle of the road to Damascus, his eyes were enlightened to the knowledge of the Truth and he was converted. Only if you will allow the Gospel to change your life, you won’t stay in your place of sin. The enlightened eyes will lead you into holiness, righteousness, and sanctification. The enlightened eyes will make you love your enemies, pray for those who spitefully use you, and bless those who curse you. The enlightened eyes will turn you into a good, kind, faithful, self-controlled, gentle, joyful, longsuffering, peaceful, and loving person.

Lift up prayers for the willingness to yield and obedience towards the saving power and transformation of the Word of God so your soul can be enlightened in the name of Jesus Christ.
